In order to mitigate the rising incidence of burnout and disengagement in the workplace, our programs empower individuals to develop specific strategies to manage and improve their wellbeing using strategies based on our groundbreaking research. Our program offerings are specifically designed to address how individuals can improve fortitude to reduce their risk of burnout. Armed with years of executive education, leadership experience and executive coaching, we integrate insights from our research with experiential learning and personalized instruction to foster a rich educational environment.
Measurement
Our research shows an individual’s fortitude-level is significantly related to burnout, engagement and intent to leave. Furthermore, fortitude explains over 4 times the variance in burnout than resilience.
We believe in the importance of an evidence-based approach. Our proprietary Fortitude Scale (HCF-12) is a statistically valid and reliable measure of fortitude. The scale is easy to administer, takes less than 5 minutes to complete and can be taken multiple times to track progress. Using the HCF-12 allows participants to understand their baseline levels of fortitude, burnout and engagement and to monitor improvement.
Fortitude Keynote Address
Much of the current focus on reducing burnout is centered around improving the work environment. While true, our research shows that improving individual fortitude can work synergistically to provide additional improvement in wellbeing. Our research shows that it’s not just the work environment or attributes of the individual that leads to burnout – its BOTH.
Our keynotes create opportunities to educate your audience on our cutting-edge research and provide new insights to improve wellbeing. These presentations summarize our current research on fortitude and burnout in a 45-90-minute session.
Fortitude Seminars
Fortitude seminars can be tailored to meet your needs. Typically lasting 90-120 minutes, our seminars include a keynote followed by an interactive learning session where each participant is guided to develop a strategy to improve their wellbeing. This approach engages participants to focus on their own unique needs.
Fortitude Training
Experiential learning and deliberate practice are key features our 6-month cohort-based program to train individuals to build fortitude and make it stick. This approach includes didactic knowledge transfer, group coaching activities, team accountability, onsite mentorship and follow-up to help participants apply this knowledge to real-world situations. Through experiential learning, participants develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Participants are assessed at the beginning of the program and at 3- and 6-month intervals to monitor progress.
Individual Coaching
Studies have shown that individual coaching can have significant impact on decreasing burnout and improving engagement. Our team of Certified Fortitude Coaches ™ meet 1:1 with individuals to assist them on their journey to improve their wellbeing. These engagements can be tailored to the specific needs of individuals.
Dynamics of Leadership Training
Many leaders are placed into leadership roles with insufficient training, skills and education to perform the job well. This not only places them at increased risk of burnout and intent to leave, but can have a spillover effect to those that report to them.
Our 12-month “Dynamics of Leadership” cohort-based learning series provides your leaders with the skills needed to navigate environmental complexities. The Dynamics Program is a transformative educational initiative that equips your leaders with the knowledge, skills, and perspective needed to thrive. By embracing personalized learning, group interaction, experiential learning, and interdisciplinary approaches culminating in a strategic capstone project, this program prepares leaders for success.
